Visit to Perugia and the Umbria Jazz Festival!

Sooo...I just got the chance to post an update, I'm stuck in Naples for the day so it's a good opportunity to catch up. Perugia was such a blast, visiting all my old friends from two years ago and making new ones too. I was very fortunate in that the Umbria Jazz Festival was going on during my visit. I experienced this festival two years ago when I studied at the Università per Stranieri (University for Foreigners) and I have to say it's one of my favorite things about the city. There are tons of free jazz concerts all over the city in the main piazzas, plus street shows. People come from all over the world to participate in this festival, as well as see bigger names such as R.E.M and Alicia Keys (though you have to pay for those of course.) I got to see one band which I absolutely fell in love with called Funk Off. They are from Italian and put on the best shows I have ever seen! They have incredible amounts of energy and jump around the stage while playing their songs, really a very talented group.

While in Perugia I didn't do much other than relax, see my friends, eat lots of gelato from the Fontana Maggiore and Antica Perusia gelaterie, and take long walks to visit my favorite places to hang out and view the surrounding hills and countryside. Here are some pictures from my trip, including Umbria Jazz:
