Change in plans...

Ciao bellissimi! I just wanted to post an update about what's been going on for the past month. At the end of August I had an accident in Sicily where I unfortunately broke my right heel. I had surgery and then decided to fly back home for the healing process. So I'm now back at home in Washington, getting better with my mom and very excited to be able to take off this cast soon and get back on my feet! Thanks to all my friends and family for sending me lovely messages of encouragement, as this definitely wasn't the end to my trip that I had imagined! But as soon as I can I'll be up and exploring again! I have scores of great pictures and things to write about from my time in Sicily, so I'll be posting those when I can...take care! peace, maria
