For the past year or so I've been working along with some really rad people with the Community Alliance for Global Justice (CAGJ) in Seattle on this project I'd like to share. I currently co-coordinate CAGJ's Food Justice Project and one of our projects for 2009 was to create and publish a community food justice guide that combined hands-on tools for working on food justice issues with recipes submitted by people in many different communities in Seattle and beyond.
After many months of hard work, the guide is finally done! It includes a lot of different information and articles and recipes submitted by people in CAGJ and the broader Seattle area.
Here is some information about it, please check it out! We also are discussing doing a second edition, and I would welcome any thoughts or ideas about topics to include or about the guide in general. Email me your ideas or comments at rodriguezme08 [at] gmail.com. We also can always use help in getting the guide out there and available in new locations, or help in planning for a second edition!
Our Food, Our Right takes you on a journey through many of the current food system’s failures, and showcases creative solutions that communities are designing to regain control over their food, and the health of their bodies and neighborhoods.
